Carmen Luján García
Carmen Luján-García is a lecturer at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain), where she currently teaches ESP at the Modern Languages Department. She has also taught ESOL in the United States. Her main field of research is the sociolinguistics of English in Spain, and more specifically the analysis of English lexical units in Spanish, so the lexical analysis is at the core of her research. She also works on other related areas such as ESP, EMI and the use of ICT in the EFL classroom. Some of her publications are: La lengua inglesa en Canarias: usos y actitudes (2003); The English Language and Anglo-American Culture: Its Impact on Spanish Language and Society (2013); La presencia del inglés en la publicidad televisiva española (2023-2015) along with other authors and published in 2016; Anglicismos sexuales en español, co-edited with Dr. Eliecer Crespo-Fernández in 2018, and she has edited the book Anglicismos en los nuevos medios de comunicación published in 2021. She has also published different international papers in journals indexed in JCR such as English Today, Onomazein, CALL, Spanish in Context, Terminology, among others. She has recently accredited as a Full Professor by ANECA.
