Solemne acto de apertura oficial del curso académico 2001-2002 bajo la presidencia de Su Majestad el Rey

Solemne acto de apertura oficial del curso académico 2001-2002, presidido por Su Majestad D. Juan Carlos I y que tuvo lugar el 9 de octubre de 2001 en el Paraninfo de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. La ceremonia comenzó con la lectura del resumen de la Memoria del Curso 2000-2001 por el Dr. D. Eduardo Galván Rodríguez, Ilmo. Sr. Secretario General de la Universidad, seguido de una lección inaugural a cargo del Prof. Dr. D. Agustín Juárez Rodríguez, Catedrático de Construcción Arquitectónica de la ULPGC. Seguidamente, el acto contó con el discurso del Excmo. Sr. Rector Magnífico de la ULPGC, Dr. D. Manuel Lobo Cabrera, así como las palabras de la Excma. Sra. Dña. Pilar del Castillo Vera, Ministra de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, la intervención del Excmo. Sr. Don Román Rodríguez Rodríguez, Presidente del Gobierno de Canarias y fue clausurado por S.M. el Rey Don Juan Carlos I.
 
Opening ceremony of the academic year 2001-2002, presided by His Majesty the King Juan Carlos I, celebrated on the 9th of October 2001 at the Paraninfo of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The celebration began with a reading of the Report of the year 2000-2001 by Dr. Mr. Eduardo Galván Rodríguez, Secretary-General of the University, followed by an inaugural lesson by Prof. Dr. Mr. Agustín Juárez Rodríguez, Professor of Architectural Construction at the ULPGC. The ceremony continued with the speech by the Rector of the University, Dr. Mr. Manuel Lobo Cabrera, and the words by Mrs. Pilar del Castillo Vera, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports. Her speech was followed by the intervention of Mr. Román Rodríguez Rodríguez, President of the Government of the Canary Islands, and the speech by His Majesty the King Juan Carlos I closed the event.
